Q    What were your highlights of this trip? Personal? Work-related?

Q    How could we improve this trip for future volunteers?

I actually personally believe the trip is organised so well and everything was so smooth and easy that there is nothing that could really improve. The trip gives you a great amount of free time on top of great learning days.

I will for sure be coming back and doing more volunteer work with the To Love & Serve team again. So rewarding!

Q    Other feedback?

Massive thanks to the organisers and the team that come over especially Tanya and Jen who without each of you this wouldn’t be happening! Can’t wait to come back again; try and stop me! I have also recommended the Cambodia experience to everyone I know in Chiropractic!

Q    What were your highlights of this trip? Personal? Work-related?

Personally a highlight for me was when I connected with some of the teenage girls at the school and provided them with a treatment. The next day they brought me a handmade bouquet of flowers to show their appreciation. This moment touched me so much because the connection was enough for me, I did not expect and need anything else. Professionally, one of the supervisors timed me while I was offering the adjustments and to my surprise I could provide the treatments much faster and more effectively with the same value as when I started. Another professional highlight for me was on the first day of adjusting, a woman came to see me for her neck pain and I noticed she had a large healing wound on the back of her left hand. I asked her what had happened and she told me her brother beat her with his belt. I did feel shocked at this moment and then soon realized all I could do for her was to adjust her and hope that the value from that helps her heal and recover.

Q    Did you achieve your goals from this trip? Personal? Work-related?

My personal goals were to have an enriching experience and connect with the people of Cambodia and learn what motivates them despite adversity. I definitely achieved my personal goals of emotional and spiritual connection. Professionally, my goal was to increase my confidence adjusting lots of different spine, increase my effectiveness and time management, increase my confidence with specific chiropractic techniques such as side lying. I fulfilled all of these.
